Shantel M. Harrell started with the DDD in 2012. She began as a Public Safety Ranger and has since been promoted to Receptionist. Her importance to the DDD starts with providing a smile and warm welcome to every person she greets along with providing office support services in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
After graduating from John McDonough Sr. High School, she became a Deputy Sheriff for the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department until her Hurricane Katrina departure. After returning to the city she worked as a security officer for Harrah’s Casino-New Orleans before making the move to the DDD.
Shantel is a member of the National Honors Society, American Criminal Justice Association and Lambda Alpha Epsilon.
During her off time from the DDD, Shantel can be found enjoying quality time with the 3 loves of her life – her husband Jonathan Sr., their first bundle of joy Jonathan Jr and Gizmo, the family dog.
